Roleplay Server Clips for TikTok, Shorts, Reels & X

One good roleplay scene can support several social posts, but every version needs context. Turn approved server footage into clear short videos that invite interested people to learn about your community.

Read-aloud audio is available in supported browsers.

Find complete roleplay moments worth clipping

Look for the right moment in a recording instead of effects. Get a feel for the background around it to understand the characters and the reason this moment is interesting. Select a segment that includes a single idea: either a shock, decision, solution to a problem, or funny reaction. Otherwise, the viewer will require hours of server history to understand the basics.

Roleplay server promotion works best when it includes moments that tell about the community in an accurate way. If your target community prefers serious storytelling and roleplays, go with it and pick a good conversation over an exploding house in another world. Describe your goal in the server campaign brief builder and then share the source timestamp and its context with the editor. The idea of the clip should make people aware of what to expect.

Give context before the big RP moment

Try to make an opening scene for a viewer to understand the content they are about to see. It can be a small caption describing the situation. However, don't promise something extraordinary and create a situation where characters have disagreements or fights out of nowhere. Preserve the context of any agreement when it matters to the joke.

Remember to specify what game this scene comes from. Identify GTA V or FiveM footage clearly so viewers do not mistake it for GTA 6 gameplay. If a future GTA 6 community uses an authorized GTA V example, label the game and explain its purpose. You can find further guidelines about this difference in our GTA 6 server campaign guide.

Crop RP clips for vertical video and subtitles

When selecting your vertical crop, make sure it preserves characters, subtitles, and movements. When characters move outside a fixed crop, reframe the scene as needed. However, when doing this, make sure you have not made your clip unwatchable because of it. Don't resize the small source to the point where captions will overlap or become unreadable.

Keep subtitles away from areas where platform interface controls may cover them. Make them readable in all cases: sufficient contrast, big fonts, etc. Review the export on a mobile device. Listen to the exported clip using ordinary speakers and headphones if available. Make sure that the voices will stay understandable without sudden sound changes. Remove any kind of private overlays or chat logs from the clip before making it public.

Adapt RP clips for TikTok, Shorts, Reels and X

Firstly, prepare the export of the edited clip. After it is ready, produce the adaptations depending on the platforms. Check the format and guidelines of every platform used right when you are posting the clips on them rather than using pre-made guidelines from the past. A successful upload doesn't mean your post meets all the campaign's requirements automatically. If the clip is used on Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X, the platform-specific clipping guides may be of great help to you.

Invite viewers to join your RP server

You don't need to explain the entire process of joining the community with every single clip you post. Just provide the viewers with one link for the next step, such as reading the joining guide or finding an event to join. The destination should contain all the information required to join. It must be easy to recognize that it relates to the server the video came from.

If the server requires people to be whitelisted, explain that an application is required. If the video shows a specific job on the server, explain if there is any kind of requirement for this position too. This way, you reduce the gap between the entertainment people watched and the community they can actually join. The advertising plan for FiveM servers provides the workflow of creating this bridge.

Permissions and rules for roleplay clips

Check the permissions required for the source footage, music, and participant information. Verify the campaign permission as well as all the requirements and guidelines. Remember that a polished edit does not by itself establish permission to publish. Save all the sources and the final product so that you'll be able to verify the process later if needed.

Don't forget to save the URLs of every post, their date of posting, all the proof and requests. The creator of the content should be able to verify that they can easily recognize the particular source scene with the help of some saved files without searching for them through all the folders. For paid work, check the clipping campaign approval workflow as well as the written payment terms to know what's expected from you there. Do not attempt to increase the view count artificially with misleading traffic or purchased views, especially when it concerns paid work.

Improve your roleplay server video results

Make notes about what the goals for every version are. The views show exposure, but destination visits and completed applications mean that the visitor is closer to joining the community. The post that received a broad audience may get you fewer suitable candidates than a less popular scene that would showcase the community. You should look into the comments to find things that could be changed in the next edit.

Make each change by adjusting one important element, such as the opening caption, framing, or call to action. You must keep track of what the next version is so you can easily compare it. With the help of the GTA 5 server clipping guide, you'll easily choose the next clip. In the case of a paid job, negotiate the revision scope with the clippers you hire.

Can one RP clip be posted on multiple platforms?

Only if source permissions and campaign terms allow it. Adapt the crop, captions, disclosure, and submission details for each permitted platform.

Should every clip include a Discord invitation?

Choose the destination that matches your campaign goal and onboarding process. One clear next step is usually easier to follow than several competing invitations.
