Settings Guide

Best Settings for GTA 6 Clips

Our GTA 6 clipping tool allows you to adjust aspect ratio, resolution, target duration, layout and AI hook style. We cover what every setting does and when to use each one for the biggest effect on all platforms.

Aspect Ratios

Aspect Ratios: 9:16, 1:1, and 4:5

AI Reframe works with three different aspect ratios. They are optimised for different platforms and types of content. Your selected aspect ratio will crop and frame your gameplay differently. See how to create GTA 6 clips without editing for the full editing-free workflow.

9:16

Vertical (9:16)

The standard aspect ratio for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. Vertical and full-screen on your phone. Ideal for high-energy clips, stunts and any content you create with mobile viewers in mind. This ratio is used most on social media.

Platforms: TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels

1:1

Square (1:1)

Works for Instagram feed posts, Twitter/X posts and carousel content. Square dimensions. Less immersive than vertical but works well on more platforms and placements.

Platforms: Instagram Feed, Twitter/X, Facebook

4:5

Portrait (4:5)

A slightly wider vertical format. Perfect size for Instagram in-feed Reels and feed posts. Occupies more space than a square but not as much space as 9:16 would. Great for when you need just a tad more width.

Platforms: Instagram Feed, Instagram Reels

Layouts

Layout Styles: Full, Split, PiP, and Gameplay

Full Layout

Fills the full vertical frame with gameplay. The AI crops and follows the action, making sure to keep the most important elements in frame. Ideal for action-heavy clips you want to fully showcase.

Best for: Stunts, car chases, explosions and cinematic shots

Split Layout

Splits the vertical frame into two gameplay views. Helpful when you want to display two angles or pair gameplay with a reaction-style view. Adds variety to your feed visuals.

Best for: Comparison clips, multi-angle moments, variety posts

Picture-in-Picture (PiP)

Places a smaller secondary view on top of the primary gameplay frame. The PiP window can show an alternate angle or zoomed-in detail. Feels more professional.

Best for: Gameplay with detail overlay, professional-looking clips

Gameplay Layout

Keeps the action centred and cleanly framed, with no extra elements to take focus away from the gameplay. Minimalistic and simple; great for clips where the gameplay speaks for itself.

Best for: Clean clips, skill showcases, gameplay-first content

AI Hooks

13 AI Hook Styles

AI hooks are graphic and text overlays that we apply to the first few seconds of your clip. Their job is to make people stop scrolling. GTAClipper has 13 styles of hooks. Each one gives your clip a different kind of eye-catching opening. Here's how to think about them.

Variety Matters

Don't use the same hook type on every clip. Cycle through all 13 types of hooks so your feed has variety. Different hooks also attract different viewers.

Match the Hook to the Content

Action-oriented clips need high-energy hooks. Story-driven moments need text hooks. Cinematic content needs dramatic hooks. Match the hook mood to the clip mood.

Test and Track

Test-drive clips using various hook styles and see what garners the most traction. After a while you will see which 3-4 styles work best for your audience.

Hooks Are Critical for Short Clips

Remember, on a 15-second clip your hook eats up a lot of the video. Keep hooks short and sweet for these shorter clips. Reserve the lengthy hooks for your 30-60s clips.

Resolution

Resolution: From 1080p to 4K

GTAClipper offers export resolutions up to 4K. 1080p is the display resolution used by most social media sites, and looks great. Higher resolutions will output sharper video, especially noticeable on larger displays.

When converting from 16:9 to 9:16 aspect ratio, the AI is cropping away part of the original frame. The more resolution you start with, the more detailed your cropped vertical frame will be. If your input video is 4K you're going to get a much clearer 9:16 crop than if you started with 720p.

For TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels, you should export at 1080p. All of these platforms render at a resolution of 1080x1920 for vertical videos. Exporting at 4K will allow you to have a higher-quality master file, but the platforms will compress it down to their display resolution.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What aspect ratio should I use for TikTok clips?

9:16 is the aspect ratio TikTok users should be using. It perfectly fits the phone screen and gives your clip the native look TikTok favours. Always use GTAClipper's AI Reframe with an aspect ratio of 9:16 for TikTok videos.

What resolution does GTAClipper export at?

GTAClipper supports resolutions all the way up to 4K. 1080p (1920x1080 for landscape or 1080x1920 for portrait) is standard for most social media sites and looks great. You may choose higher resolutions if you desire ultra-sharp clips.

How do I choose between the 4 layout styles?

Full fills the whole screen with gameplay. Ideal for action clips. Split displays two feeds of gameplay at once. Picture-in-Picture overlays a smaller feed on the gameplay. Gameplay centres your footage with clean framing. Try all four and see what your viewers like best.

What target duration should I use?

0-30s works great for TikTok and Instagram Reels. 30-60s maximises total watch time on YouTube Shorts. For longer videos like tutorials or compilations, use 60-90s or 90-180s. Pick 180-300s for long clips that require extra space.

How many AI hook styles are there?

GTAClipper has 13 styles of AI hooks. They each provide a different kind of eye-catching intro for your clip. Experiment with styles between posts to see what your viewers like and to add variety to your feed.

Can I change settings after detecting moments?

Yes. AI Clipping picks moments and creates scores, titles and hashtags. You select your settings when you process with AI Reframe -- aspect ratio, layout, hook style, captions and resolution are all chosen at the reframe stage.
